It
appears that Cascade Surplus is the target of a lawsuit. The
plaintiff alleges that he has gotten mercury poisoning from the use
of vacuum tubes. He is seeking $75000 each from a list of 20
defendants including all companies that produce and sell the tubes
that he has used over the years.

Due to
current economic conditions, Cascade Surplus does not have any cash
reserves and is unable to afford the retainer fee to hire an
attorney.
Here
are the facts:
We have
done an extensive search of all sales records, and there is NO RECORD
of the plaintiff purchasing ANY vacuum tubes from Cascade Surplus
Electronics.
Two
purchases were made by the plaintiff and neither include vacuum tubes
of any kind.
We have
contacted the plaintiff's attorney and asked multiple times that the
plaintiff either provide proof that he purchased vacuum tubes from
us, or drop us from the lawsuit. The plaintiff has maintained that
he purchased vacuum tubes from us, but has not provided any proof.
The most recent letter sent to the attorney offering to settle out of
court if proof can be provided has not been answered.

Conclusion...
By the
time you read this, the plaintiff's attorneys will have most likely filed for a
default ruling, which puts Cascade Surplus Electronics on the hook
for at least $75000. In this litigious society, it appears that you
can accuse anyone of anything with no proof whatsoever, and if they
cannot afford an attorney, they are automatically guilty.
Therefore,
Cascade Surplus Electronics will have no choice but to cease all
operation and declare bankruptcy. We hope this doesn't happen, but
there is a definite possibility.
